Launched in 2016 in response to the sophisticated cyber-attacks on SWIFT users, the Customer Security Programme (CSP) aims to uphold proper cyber-security standards across all users, reduce the risk of cyber-attacks, and minimise the financial impact of fraudulent transaction. As a SWIFT payment system user, you are required to attest your compliance with the CSCF by December 31 annually.
While self-assessment is an option, SWIFT no longer recognises these results for compliance status. Instead, independently assessed attestation submissions are required, which BDO can facilitate.
