Prashen is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in IT Risk, Advisory, and Internal Audit and has joined the BDO Advisory Team.

He holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from ISACA, demonstrating his proficiency in information systems auditing as well as the Information Systems Audit Professional (ISAP) designation from the ISACA South African chapter.

Prashen possesses a solid educational background that combines technical IT expertise with business understanding. He has garnered invaluable experience working with prestigious Big Four audit firms and Big Four Banks. 

Over the course of 9 years, he has played a pivotal role in providing strategic insights and delivering comprehensive audit services to a diverse client base. His portfolio spans the financial services sector, accounting for 70% of his clients, as well as the telecommunications industry.

As a skilled supervisor and coach, Prashen has led teams, fostered their growth, and drove excellence in engagements. His proficiency extends to utilising tools such as ACL, Excel, Power BI and other tools to provide functional analytics, enabling efficient and effective audits.

With a specific focus on IT risk and compliance, Prashen possesses 3 years of experience in conducting SOX reviews, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and promoting robust internal controls.

His career spans 7 years in the banking sector, where he has gained comprehensive knowledge of critical areas such as Regulatory, Products, Exchange Control, Payment systems, etc for both traditional and digital banking processes. Notably, he has been at the forefront of digital transformation initiatives, spearheading the Audit Automation and Continuous Audit functionality.
